Hypersanity

Think of a person that walks around the streets, talking to people, and peculiarly asking about things they don't understand, but are logically true. The mainstream labels this person insane. However interestingly, this person can be in a higher state of awareness known as hypersanity.

Hypersanity

The concept of "hypersanity" is intriguing and not widely recognized in mainstream psychology. It was introduced by the Scottish psychiatrist R.D. Laing in his book "The Politics of Experience and the Bird of Paradise (1967)". Laing suggested that what we often label as "madness" could actually be a journey towards a higher state of consciousness, which he termed "hypersanity".

"Hone your rational and extra-rational thinking skills to unleash your full human potential. I have found power in the mysteries of thought. —Euripides.

Hypersanity involves a profound level of awareness and understanding that transcends ordinary rationality. It is often associated with a deep connection to one's imagination and unconscious mind. For example, Carl Jung, a prominent psychologist, experienced what could be described as hypersanity during his "confrontation with the unconscious," where he engaged with vivid, mythological figures from his imagination.

When I think about this concept, it does not only spark thoughts but also it resonates with me. The hypersane are among us if only we are prepared to look. I have been encountering the people whom I may consider them as hypersane. These individuals have a higher level of consciousness, though the may look abnormal.

Furthermore, famous philosophers and scientists like Diogenes, Buddha, Socrates, Charles Darwin, Confucius, and Jane Goodall are among the good examples of people who used their hypersanity to understand and challenge the conventional ways of thinking and experiencing nature of human life and expressing it outside its norms.

Imagination and Hypersanity

The higher level of imagination allows us to wander around in thoughts to arrive at the higher level of consciousness. To those people around hypersane individuals have to experience unconventional ways of provoking thinking. These ways surpass normal ways of thinking and gaining knowledge as well as understanding of themselves, their society and the world.

Their imagination plays a crucial role in reaching the state of hypersanity. It allows individuals to explore beyond the confines of conventional thinking, potentially leading to innovative and transformative insights.

Imagination and hypersanity widens intelligence, and knowledge. The truth and pure ideas come from alternative forms of cognition that our culture tends to overlook and underplay, including intuition, emotion, and imagination.

In essence, hypersanity is about tapping into the full potential of the human mind, embracing creativity, and achieving a state of liberated and empowered thought.
