Seasons of the Giant Tree

A baobab tree

You feed your mind with its fruits,

It quenches thirsty as you drink from its trunk,

It washes your brain as you crave it.

Under its shoots it's shady,

The giant tree switches off your eyes,

As you rest under it.

Your lives are its seasons,

Its memory dictates your times,

Sweet scents in the breeze,

Birds and their chicks in the nests,

Flowers and visiting bees,

As it stretches its branches.

It evolves its roots,

So that it grows its leaves.

As time passes its skin withers.

Bare and dry become its foliages.

Termites and ants infest it,

From it, a tired tiny seed bud,

Its mother's tears fall from the sky,

The wailing sprouts tiny roots and fronds.

And that's the restart of the giant's grand rise.
